Solid Oak Products
Four panel solid oak door
This attractive hand-crafted door is made from solid and virtually knot-free dense oak. Made with
great attention to detail, the door is kiln-dried to leave only a maximum of 8-10% moisture content.
The door has mortised and tenoned joints and very wide stiles and bottom rails. We recommend
that the door is hung internally on 3" DPBW brass or stainless steel butts. A handle or knob can be
fitted to the centre rail. The door should be finished with Polyx Oil.
Solid oak plank door
These interior doors are traditionally constructed from selected grades of European oak. The three
horizontal ledges are screwed to the back but do not show any unsightly plugs. Diagonal braces can
be added but these are left loose so that they may be fitted to follow the direction in which the door
is hung. To finish the door we recommend natural hardwax oil (Polyx oil).
1/2 Glazed Solid Oak Panel Door
This solid kiln-dried oak door has beautifully moulded stiles and glazing bars with solid oak field
panels. Absolutely no MDF or veneers are used. All joints are tongued and grooved and the door is
a substantial 40mm thick making it suitable for knob furniture. These doors are fully factory glazed
with toughened bevelled glass.
Frame Ledged Solid Oak Door
Suitable for internal use, this oak door is a full 45mm thick. It has very wide stiles and bottom rail
giving an attractive functional appearance. The oak is of the finest quality, kiln-dried to 8-10%
moisture content. This door should be fitted with stainless steel or brass DPBW butts. You can fit a
rim lock internally. For a finish we recommend hardwax (Polyx oil).
Solid Oak Flooring
140 X 20Engineered Oak Flooring
20mm x 180mm long lengths
Marches engineered oak Floor is a new and revolutionary flooring. It has has all the added benefits of a
solid oak floor but does not experience the same problems.
The top layer of wood is pressed and glued onto a layer of multiplex wood using a unique process. The board is made up of a 6mm thick piece of solid oak laminated onto a 14.5mm thick birch plywood. This makes the board extremely stable and allows for virtually no movement in the way of shrinkage or expansion.
The resulting engineered flooring is an outstanding floor. It radiates the same warmth as other wooden
floors. With shrinkage and expansion reduced to minimum, it is 75% more stable than solid oak floors!
Many of the problems associated with solid wooden floors are practically eliminated.
The Marches oak floor is ideal for under floor heating as it easily meets the heat transfer requirements (only being 20.5mm thick). It can also be glued directly to concrete floors. Please enquire for details about glue.
